Our Framework
Pike Origin’s sustainable business framework defines four essential pillars – People, Sustainability Outlook, Transparency, and Voice for Good. These four pillars support the community of stakeholders which include owners (shareholders), employees, customers, suppliers, communities, and the environment.
People
This pillar represents the team and your culture. Help your people reach their goals and you can reach yours. Businesses play a pivotal role by prioritizing social responsibility, engaging in community partnerships, and investing in retraining programs. People often make up a business’ brand’s value and can make the best advocates for positive work experiences.
Sustainability Outlook
This pillar represents the use of intelligence and long-term planning. To do this, data-driven decision making, accurate information, and quality analysis must feed into project planning, research and development, and financing. This pillar should apply in all aspects of business including operations, finance, and strategy. Businesses with effective data collection and long-term analysis methods will be able to respond quickly to crises and leaders can be held accountable.
Transparency
This pillar is the foundation of establishing a trusted reputation with high integrity. This involves effective governance, reporting, and traceability. These are the foundations of strong fundamentals. Successful businesses need to leverage this strength to build and reinforce trust within the community and through the public’s eye.
Voice for Good
This pillar represents local community impacts, content creation, and activism. Successful businesses will use their voice to create positive influence in their communities, ecosystems, and social causes to advance the well-being of people and the planet.
Note: This framework is designed to provide a baseline description of key business assets or functions throughout the Climate Transition. At Pike Origin, understanding these assets and their relationships to each other is essential for sustainability-driven professionals as they engage in coalition building, leading change, and accomplishing business objectives within their organizations and communities.
